Heavy rains since December last year cause many malaysians had to move out from their house. The continuous rains caused a terrible flood especially at the east coast. This is the worse case scenario in an entire decades. This tragedy gives impacts to a food constrain among people, affected business and economy, victims were exposed to get infection diseases that is able to spread by water and air such as skin inflammation, damage of plants and animals. It was a heartbreaking news and inject gigantic impacts to Malaysian. However, it makes us realize what is the silver linings from the floods.
We are lucky to have a very helpful and concern malaysian that not involve in the flood which is they give donation to help victims of floods especially to the east coast. They volunteered to donate for the victims. They not only donate food and essential items but they also give monetary contribution in cash to the victims. On top of that, they not only provide aid to people, but Malaysian are concerned about helping animals as well such as cats and dogs. They provide enough foods for them, safe shelter, and prepare floats for the cats trapped in flood to ensure their safety. Moreover, there were also people willing to swim to save a cat even in a dangerous situation.
In flood, not just properties have destroyed, it is sadden to know that there are also numbers of family that have lost. For example, a family in Kelantan. Parents of a child died in a flood cause by drowning. The incident happened too fast. Now the child is taken care of his grandparents. Moreover, there are family of four members who help themselves from suffocating due to a torrential flow of flood by holding tree branches. Fortunately, they are now safe. Lessons that we can learn from this tragedy is we should appreciate each of our family members, our earth and our beauty of nature before its too late. We also need to be grateful and thankful for what has given to us no matter what happened.
